Volunteer
I have always loved animals and have volunteered in rescue and wildlife rehab nearly my entire life. Naturally, I grew up, studied biology, took jobs at zoos, rescues, and wildlife centers, and continued to help animals any chance I got. As a vegan, I began to pay special attention to the farm animals at facilities where I worked, and noticed that they were often overlooked and under-appreciated. When I went out of my way to befriend these animals (particularly, a pair of potbellied pigs), I discovered how special these animals truly are and completely fell in love. Thus, I began to focus much of my volunteer work on farm animal rescue and was shocked at how great the need was. I volunteered with a few different organizations before finally finding a “home” at BSAS! Having been involved with so many organizations in the past, it was quickly apparent how well Blind Spot was run (and that it was well worth my three hour round-trip weekly commute!). Since then, I have continued to be blown away by the great capacity in which they help animals and the incredible care that the animals receive. I am so grateful to be able to play a small part in their life-saving work!
